Jim Ingoglia is a partner at Raiser & Kenniff, PC,. His practice areas include commercial litigation, employment litigation, trust and estate litigation, and criminal defense. He is a Long Island native who is a graduate of Chaminade High School, the College of the Holy Cross, and Hofstra University School of Law (with distinction). In addition to helping lead the firm’s Civil Litigation team at Raiser & Kenniff, PC, Jim assists the criminal defense team, particularly with federal criminal defense work. Jim clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Martin in Providence, RI. Judge Martin was a well-known trial and appellate defense lawyer in New England.
At White & Case LLC, Jim worked extensively with the firm’s White Collar Defense group on several international financial fraud investigations. He also devoted significant time to indigent clients through the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel. Jim was also second seat at the trial and co-defense counsel through verdict and sentencing in the case of a Colombian national extradited to the United States for money laundering and conspiracy charges in the SDNY. That trial work involved the federal government’s Operation Wirecutter investigation, which resulted in the first-ever extraditions from Colombia based solely on charges of laundering narcotics proceeds. The lead prosecutor on the case later became the Special U.S. Treasury Department Inspector General overseeing the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).
As a former associate at Garfunkel Wild & Travis, PC and a Counsel at Smith Valliere PLLC, Jim assisted with the firms’ representation of medical practices and medical professionals in civil litigations and investigations by the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC), other regulatory agencies, and insurance task force teams.
